MSLGROUP promotes Massura to NY social and digital lead
NEW YORK: MSLGroup has promoted VP Marcy Massura to SVP and head of the firm’s social and digital practice in New York.Massura relocated to New York from Los Angles earlier this month, where she was running the agency’s West Coast social and digital practice for just under a year.
In her new role, Massura continues to report to Stephanie Agresta, global director of social media and digital at MSLGroup. Massura replaces Laura Chavoen, who left the company several weeks ago. Further information on Chavoen’s departure was not disclosed.
Some of Massura’s responsibilities include overseeing a team of about 30 digital specialists, managing day-to-day social media and digital content operations, and developing products and services for the agency in North America.
Massura joined MSLGroup in 2013 from Weber Shandwick, where she served as director of digital engagement.
One of the main challenges Massura said she will face in the role is that “everything moves so quickly” in the digital space.
“My number one initiative will be to strengthen our integrated approach and increase education for all account teams to create more hybrid digital individuals to better serve clients,” she said.
She added that her second focus is to “bring forward ideas for existing and new clients that are new, fresh, and innovative.”
Massura’s appointment follows on the heels of two other senior digital hires as part of MSLGroup’s plan to bolster its digital practice globally.
In London, MSLGroup named former Weber Shandwick digital chiefJames Warren as head of digital for the EMEA region.
MSLGroup also brought on Jon Chin, former head of digital for FleishmanHillard in Southeast Asia, as director of digital and social for the Southeast Asia operation, based in Singapore.
